Haputo Beach 2

More pictures of when we finally got to the beach! It is so peaceful and instantly makes you relaxed and feel refreshed! We were the second family there on this day. The boys picked up sea cucumbers or sea slugs and we saw fish. Wonderful day!

Haputo Beach

On Sunday, we decided to take a hike down to a beach that plenty of people have spoke about. We haven't had the time to go to the beach lately, so we were more than ready! This particular beach is located on the smaller Navy base about 10 minutes away from us. Alot of people we have met considered it their family favorite beach spot. That made me even more intrigued to visit! As I mentioned, it is a hike to get down there. If we had younger children, I do not think we would be able to visit. The boys had a blast with the hike and the fun once we got down. It is so secluded and calm that it is now our favorite beach so far! Take a look at the pictures and you will understand. It is just beautiful!
The first picture is of the opening to the beach after the hike, and one of the water is from up high, close to where the hike started.

Update

It has been a few months since I have visited and blogged! First off, I apologize. As some of you know it was a hard adjustment moving here for me. The family did great. I, on the other hand am just now coming around.
I got my school thing figured out. That was a huge stressor lifted off my shoulders. I have met some really nice ladies through the PTO. I just recently joined an excercise group that meets on M-Th-Fr at 7:30 am after the children are off to school. We walk to the track which is about a mile then we do circuit drills rotating legs, arms, legs, and abs everyday. I have found it to be a great way to keep yourself motivated since there is accountability! One Saturday a month we do a 5k. I love it! My goal is to run the next one. Yesterday I walked with a friend to help her through it. Now, since she knows she can do it, I will run next time and then run back to her to help her finish up.
The boys were busy with soccer 4 days a week. Now we are awaiting the first season of tackle football for both of my boys. They will be apart of the Yigo Jets. We have the meet and greet with the coaches on Wednesday. We have already gotten them their football shoes and will start shopping this week for pants and practice jerseys. We had Nana send us thermos coolers for them. I couldn't find them on island anywhere!
Daniel has already went on one TDY to Japan for 3 weeks. He says his shop is very high stress. On Monday, he will start on the mid-shift 11pm-7am. I hope it works out!?
Other than that we are all doing fine and enjoying life on Guam. School is out on June 11, then we will start seeing more of what the island has to offer. So be on the look out...

Dededo Soccer Club

Well, after going round and round with the Andersen Youth Center about the up coming soccer season we finally are playing. However, the base did not get enough kids registered and enough coaches. Even after a extended date! I was in shock, my boys have always played soccer and they love it. I was beginning to think they wouldn't get to play. After over hearing a conversation about soccer, I learned that they have clubs off base! It's sucks being new to a base and not knowing enough about the area to know any better.

Any who, the boys are a part of the Dededo Soccer Club. They had their first practice on Thursday and a game on Saturday. They are two weeks late, but the club still let me register them. It is a husband and wife that run the club. They are the nicest people. I am very thankful that they let my boys play.

Darrien and Daelin were of course very nervous at first, but they warmed up quickly and got into groove of soccer fast. Darrien does have a friend from the base on his team.

This is the first time they are playing outside of the youth center. It's more aggressive and competitive. I think they will gain more skills and knowledge of the game. Here are some pictures of thier first game!

We're still here!

It has been awhile since my last blog. So I thought it best to sit for a few minutes and update you all on the last month. It wasn't the best month for me personally. But...let's leave that for the end.
Daniel is starting to really settle in his shop. Learning his new responsibilities took longer since he is replacing a less than adequate and annoying person. None the less, he is striving to do his best in what is right now a mess. He has a test date in March, so we are hoping this will be the year for him.
Darrien is doing great. DoDEA standards are very different than MH. They have so many projects in just the three months of being here, that it shocks me that he only had one while in MH. He enjoys going to the Youth Center everyday for Sports Club. He will be playing soccer starting in March.
Daelin is also doing very well. He has done two projects since we have been here. He is reading at a second grade level, and has mastered all his sightwords through second grade. He wishes he was old enough to attend the Youth Center with his brother. He handles it very well, but looks forward to the day he can. He will also start soccer in March.
Last but not least, I have had the worst month. I have mentioned it before, but I never thought this move would have affected me. I thought I was used to this, or at least could handle it. I WAS WRONG! Lots of things have made it more difficult to handle like: not being able to find undergarments that fit, shampoo and conditioner for naturally curly/frizzy hair, my face wash, Twilight books, my current college not on the DOD of approved universities, my academic counselor not returning my phone calls after I stay up extremely late to even call her at a good hour three times, thinking that I possibly have wasted the last three years in college, and missing my previous job so bad that I doubt my abilities. Those are the top reasons for the last month to be included in my top five worst months ever!
I can only hope that when I blog next I will have super wonderful news to share!

Hunting for Hermit Crabs on Tarague

Today we took the boys, and one of Darrien's friends down to Tarague Beach here on Andersen to hunt for Hermit Crabs. They had loads of fun! All their cousins have Hermit Crabs in Texas, so they decided once we got here they would like to have some too. We found some in all sizes and of course in all different shells. They were allowed to pick out 6 each for now, to see how it goes. They are so cute and very active, I just hope we don't lose any of them.
The wind was really blowing rough today compared to others, which made the waves very rough. Here are some pictures of our hunt.

January 2009

Happy New Year Everyone!
It has already been a busy January. We enjoyed our Holiday Vacation by going to the beach, spending time with friends and ofcourse my favorite relaxing at home together playing the Wii.
Daniel, the boys, and I all went back to school or work on the 5th. It has been hard to get back into a routine, but I think we'll all be okay.
I have started running again! I have mapped out a route of 1.5 miles, and plan on working up to 3-4 miles a day. I have less on my plate since I am not working, so technically I have no excuse. This week Daniel has decided he would like to start running in the evenings with me too! Do you know how long I have been wanting him to run with me? Like our whole marriage! Which will be 13 years in April. Tonight was our first run together. He did great! I have something to look forward to in the evenings. Yeah!
Since I have so much time on my hands I have been reading like no other. I have read Twilight, New Moon, and 3 other books in the last two weeks. I can't wait to get my hands on Eclipse and Breaking Dawn to complete the series. They are very good!
The boys are looking forward to starting soccer in February. Be on the look out for pics of them playing.
